About Pastor Calvin

Pastor Calvin

Calvin W. Fergins, Jr. is originally a native of the DC metropolitan area. He graduated from Elim Bible Institute in Lima, NY with a pastoral ministry diploma in the spring of 2006. After Elim Calvin spent six months serving as a missionary in Northern Ireland and Serbia through Youth With A Mission (YWAM). In 2013 Calvin earned his Master of Divinity degree from Moravian Theological Seminary in Bethlehem, PA.

Initially planning on being a professor of American Christian history after seminary, God called Calvin to pastoral ministry. Before accepting the call to serve as Northville Baptist Church’s next pastor, Calvin ministered as a pastoral intern, chaplain and associate pastor.

Calvin and his wife, Lindsey, were married February 2016 in Columbus, OH. They are expecting their first child this summer.

Calvin likes to unwind by reading books focused the effects of technology, profit, and culture on the American diet like Michael Pollan’s The Omnivore’s Dilemma and Melanie Warner’s Pandora’s Lunchbox. Calvin enjoys cooking and consuming vegan cuisine along with losing to Lindsey when playing Wheel of Fortune on their Nintendo Wii. Though a vegan for health reasons, Calvin can still cook up a mean Buffalo burger, just ask him and you won’t be sorry.
