About Pastor Calvin

Pastor Calvin

Calvin W. Fergins, Jr. is originally a native of the DC metropolitan area, having lived in Northeast DC proper, Bethesda, MD and Ashburn, VA. He is a graduate of Elim Bible Institute in Lima, NY with a pastoral ministry diploma earned in 2006. Calvin spent six months serving as a missionary in Northern Ireland and Serbia through Youth With A Mission (YWAM). In 2013 Calvin earned his Master of Divinity degree from Moravian Theological Seminary in Bethlehem, PA. Initially planning on becoming a professor of American Christian history, God called Calvin to pastoral ministry in 2015.

Calvin is passionate about the inerrancy and infallibility of the Bible. He seeks to make the Scriptures more accessible and understandable through expository preaching which integrates Biblical, Systematic and Historical theology into the sermon.

Calvin and his wife, Lindsey, were married February 2016 in Columbus, OH. Lindsey is a professional Christian Counselor, having earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary in 2015. Their daughter, Emmaline Grace, was born July 2017 and she is already proving to be quite the little theologian as she enjoys a good theological debate with her father at 3am.

During down time, Calvin likes to unwind by reading books focused the effects of technology, profit, and culture on the American diet like Michael Pollan’s The Omnivore’s Dilemma and Melanie Warner’s Pandora’s Lunchbox. Calvin enjoys cooking and consuming vegan cuisine along with losing to Lindsey when playing Wheel of Fortune on their Nintendo Wii or beating her in Super Mario Wii’s Coin battle…
