DR. FRANK CHAN – August 18

We are happy to welcome Dr. Frank Chan, Professor of New Testament at Nyack College and Alliance Theological Seminary, as our guest preacher on Sunday, August 18. He will also give a short talk after lunch in Fellowship Hall.


Elementary school age kids are invited to join us for an exciting super-hero theme vacation Bible camp, August 19-21, from 9am-3pm. The registration fee is $5 per child with a max of $10 per family OR a canned-food donation. Details to follow soon!



Northville Baptist Church is happy to announce the hiring of Karen Vera Lecaro as our new Director of Christian Education. After becoming a dentist in Ecuador, Karen came to the United States to study English and Theology. She is now a third-year student in the Master of Divinity program at Alliance Theological Seminary (New York, NY). Karen’s responsibilities will include overseeing all children’s ministries, including the teen group. Please join on Sunday, September 1, 10:00am, to welcome Karen!

CONFERENCE ON THE BOOK OF REVELATION – Saturday, 9/7, 8:00am – 2:30pm

Prof. Julianne Cox of Alliance Theological Seminary (New York, NY) will present a three-part lecture on how to better understand the book of Revelation in the light of its ancient context. To defray the cost of lunch and lecture handouts, we are recommending a donation of $10 per person. Space is limited, so we recommend that you reserve your spot early. Prof. Julianne Cox has taught on the language and texts of the New Testament for thirty-six years. Trained at Alliance Theological Seminary, Yale University, and Fordham University, Prof. Cox has studied under some of the finest biblical and theological scholars. Additionally, her missionary experience in Russia and the Philippines has contributed greatly to understand the New Testament cross-culturally.


Our interim pastor, Dr. Christopher Dost, has been serving at Northville Baptist Church since April 2019. Dr. Dost, who is licensed with the Christian and Missionary Alliance, is also Associate Professor of Hebrew Bible at Alliance Theological Seminary in New York City. He holds a B.A. in String Bass (Western Connecticut State University, 2000) and four graduate degrees in biblical and theological studies, including a Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible and Its Interpretation from the Jewish Theological Seminary (New York City). He is the author of Jesus’ Bible: A Concise History of the Hebrew Scriptures and The Sub-Loco Notes in the Former Prophets of Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia, as well as a translator for The Targum Bible (Baylor University Press, forthcoming) and a participant in the preparation of Biblia Hebraica Quinta, a new critical edition of the Hebrew Bible (German Bible Society).
